A letter from the Founders of Predictable Machines

I’ll never forget something Raúl said the very first time we worked together:

“Technology doesn’t matter. I’d code in assembly if it were the most safe and direct way to bring my ideas to life.”

That mindset was what led us to pivot to Functional Programming and Scala back at our previous company, 47 Degrees.

We found in Scala a clean and elegant way to express what we wanted to do, with minimal code and maximum logic. It just made sense.

And that same feeling is what we’re experiencing now with AI. Of course, solid knowledge and technical foundations still matter. But let’s be honest: AI can save us a ton of time (and headaches) when it comes to writing code and building automation.

That’s what drives most of us techies — we work hard to get to a place where we can automate things.

Technology doesn’t matter. I’d code in assembly if it were the most safe and direct way to bring my ideas to life.

But here's the thing: AI gets it wrong. A lot.

And we’re not just talking about hallucinations — we’re talking about faulty automations.

It’s like throwing gas on the fire. AI is landing faster than the foundations needed to use it responsibly. And that’s risky.

That’s exactly why we built Predictable Machines.

We’re deeply focused on protecting information — especially in areas where a single mistake with sensitive data can have real consequences. Hallucinations are one thing. But what about AI making decisions between two databases? Or operating without any human checkpoint?

That’s not just a bug — that’s a potential disaster.

We’re engineers, yes. But we’re also humanists. We see technology as a powerful engine of change, but we care deeply about how those changes are implemented. That’s why we’ve rooted Predictable Machines in values like accountability, sustainability, and humanity.

We believe it’s our ethical duty to build responsibly — and we’re looking to build a community that cares about truth, ethics, and trust in AI.

That’s why we’re here again — same wild spirit, same founding team, a few more gray hairs… and a whole lot more experience.

Let’s rock (again).
