Building a Unified Blue Economy Intelligence System
What do we do?
This case study presents the development of a coordinated data infrastructure for the Blue Economy, integrating diverse datasets such as sea status, weather conditions, fish banks, fish geolocation, and fish market dynamics. The project aimed to create a unified, continuously updated knowledge base that powers an AI system, offering verified insights and 1:1 consultancy for both businesses and individuals. At the heart of the system is a Model Context Protocol (MCP), which serves both as the technical backbone and an open API layer. This infrastructure allows developers and organizations to build applications that tap into high-quality, AI-verified maritime data, promoting transparency, innovation, and smarter decision-making across sectors like fishing, aquaculture, marine logistics, and coastal management. The initiative not only enhances digital access to ocean-related data but also establishes a framework for trusted AI applications in marine environments. Designed to support local entrepreneurship, sustainable practices, and regional economic development, this model stands as a scalable solution for coastal regions worldwide seeking to merge environmental intelligence with digital transformation.
